Q. Can a Miracle Energy count as say, 1 fire & 1 electric?
A. Yup. (Mar 21, 2002 WotC Chat, Q4)
Q. Let's say my opponent has a WEEDLE with a double colorless energy. Would Light Golduck's Core Blast attack do 50 damage?
A. Yes it would. DCE is considered a Special Energy even though it isn't written on the card. (May 2, 2002 WotC Chat, Q141)
Q. If I have more than one Darkness or Metal Energy attached to a pokemon, are the effects cumulative? (i.e. two will cause/prevent 20 extra damage, three will cause/prevent 30, etc.) A. Yes they are. (Jan 25, 2001 WotC Chat, Q60; Feb 1, 2001 WotC Chat, Q6)
Q. Charizard's Pokémon Power allows you to turn any Energy card into Fire. So, if I attach two Double Colorless Energies (DCE) and I use his Fire Spin, which says discard two Energy cards, do I discard both DCEs or only one (it doesn't say two Energy, it says two Energy cards)?
A. Charizard states you have to discard 2 (Fire) Energy CARDS, So in this case you would have to discard both DCE cards. (Jan 27 WotC Chat)
Q. I read in the Master Rulings document that a Dark Energy discarded after being Energy Burned would give Charizard's Fire Spin 100 + 10 extra damage, similiar to Dark Houndoom's Dark Fire. However, Charizard says "in order to do this attack, discard two energy cards attached to Charizard." Due to the fact that discarding "in order to do this attack" happens before energy effects are resolved, wouldn't Fire Spin ONLY do 100 damage?
A. That is correct. In this case, the Darkness Energy is discarded IN ORDER TO do the attack. This means that its damage increase effects are NOT added to the Final damage. (Mar 6, 2002 WotC Rules Team Update; Mar 7, 2002 WotC Chat, Q550)
Q. Can I attach Boost Energy to Ditto while it is copying an evolved Pokemon?
A. You can't. It is not "Evolved" and copying an evolved Pokemon doesn't make it one. (Jan 23, 2003 WotC Chat, Q663; Jan 30, 2003 WotC Chat, Q746)
Q. Does Double Rainbow Energy reduce the amount of damage done to an opponent's benched Pokémon, or only to their Active Pokémon?
A. The reduction applies to both their Active and Benched Pokémon (Mar 4, 2004 PUI Rules Team)
Q. Does Double Rainbow Energy still take 10 damage off of bench damaging attacks?
A. Yes, DRE can reduce damage done to the Bench. (Mar 25, 2004 PUI Rules Team)
Q. Double Rainbow Energy states that it can only be attached to an Evolved Pokémon. What happens if I play a card, or attack, or Pokémon Power, etc. that lets me move it to a Basic Pokémon?
A. If a Double Rainbow Energy gets moved to a Pokémon that cannot have it attached, the DRE gets discarded. (Jul 19, 2007 PUI Rules Team)
Q. Can you use "Pow! Hand Extension" to move a DRE to one of your opponent's Basic Pokémon, causing it to be discarded?
A. Yes, if you move an energy card which can't be attached to that Pokémon, the energy will get discarded. (Nov 17, 2005 PUI Rules Team)
Q. Can I use attacks, powers, etc. to move an opponent's Double Rainbow Energy to a Basic Pokémon?
A. Yes, and if you do so the Double Rainbow Energy would have to be discarded since it cannot be attached to a Basic Pokémon. (Nov 17, 2005 PUI Rules Team)
Q. Does Erica's Dratini's Pokémon Power affect Pokémon that were evolved from babies? (i.e. Pichu -> Pikachu)
A. The Pikachu in your example will now be considered 'evolved'. (Dec 14, 2000 WotC Chat, Q56)
* Any card that provides Energy is considered an Energy card of the type it provides. So if you were to Energy Burn a DCE, it counts as a Fire Energy card that provides 2 fire Energy until the end of the turn. So it could be Gathered by Team Rocket Charmander but would only provide 1 coin flip for the Continuous Fireball attack on Dark Charizard. (Jul 6, 2000 WotC Chat Announcements)
Scramble Energy:
Q. Can a Miracle Energy count as say, 1 fire & 1 electric?

A. Yes it would. DCE is considered a Special Energy even though it isn't written on the card. (May 2, 2002 WotC Chat, Q141)
Q. How much energy (and what kind) does Scramble Energy produce if both players have the SAME number of prizes remaining?
A. Scramble Energy only provides one Colorless if both players have the same number of prizes. It only provides three "rainbow" if you have MORE prizes remaining than your opponent. (Feb 10, 2005 PUI Rules Team)

Heal Energy:
